About Our Protocols
While the 'ikebase is a public resource, it asks protocol of its users to be pono in their intent and to show mahalo toward the inoa contained within as they are not only names, but cherished kupuna who have laid the kahua for our future.
Entry - Hoʻo Noa
Before accessing the ʻikebase, a one-time pop-up will display as our form of entry protocol. The pop-up asks users to take a moment to honor and respect the kupuna whose names are contained within these pages and asks acknowledgment that this website not be used in any for-profit services. (ie. you may not charge ʻohana to find their kupuna in the Kūʻē Petitions by using this website to research.)
Closing - Mahalo
As a closing protocol and to show mahalo for all the kupuna who have given their names to the petition, visitors may leave notes of gratitude, sign the new Kūʻē Petitions, volunteer their services or donate to help maintain the ʻikebase for future generations.
